I’m Amanda – a spiritualist medium from North East England with 20 years’ experience and SNU training.
My experience with spirit began when I was very young. I always felt ‘different’. I used to walk my dog Cindy in the field next to my home, where I would talk away to whom ever up above. I also went to Sunday School back in the day, but only for the sweets lol. My mam would say you have 20p for sweets and 30p for the collection, of course I would swap the money around so I had more for sweets!
The first time I saw spirit was at night. I woke up to a mans face looking at me! Of course I ran into my mam’s and dad’s bedroom to wake them but my mam said you’re having a bad dream and shunned me back to bed. OMG (how could she).
In my 20s I went to stay with family in Australia. My auntie had booked me a private reading with a medium who was very well known at that time. She told me that I would be moving home and again a year later, then she said you too will be doing this, giving messages from spirit! Well if you could have seen my face! I said NO NO, you must have this wrong. She just laughed and said “wait and see”. But look at me now. It is not without hard work and dedication, though (you guys!).
I began my journey shortly after my nanna died. I was so close with her and my granddad I use to stay their the full school holidays. My nanna had this cat, night dress holder with a zip all around it to keep your PJs in, which I adored, and would carry it around every time I went to stay. There was one time my nanna got taken into hospital, and the first thing on her mind was to ring my granddad to ask him to put the cat away as she had just washed it. My granddad refused as he knew I would be tearing the house down looking for it! Turns out the reason she wanted it put away was because she had a big win at the bingo, and had hidden the money inside the cat! LOL.
Fond memories, as I’m sure you too will have some. My granddad passed away when I was a teen, so my nanna came to live in the North East and we grew even closer. “I miss her every day”.
After my nanna passed into the spirit world, that’s when my life changed, I began to see things, hear things, and get feelings like I have never had before. I could not understand what was going on with me, I was going through a bad time in my life (could that be it) was I starting to go mad, LOL. One thing I did know was it felt right and my nanna was communicating with me. This went on for some time until I realised I had to do something about this, but where do I start??
“The Spiritual Churches!” I began to explore my abilities and to improve them, with the likes of meditation, open circles and development classes. While learning this over the years I began to meet my guides, angels and helpers who work with me and, yes, they can change as you progress further. This was the start of my future! And who was right? “The Lovely Spiritual Medium” I met in my 20s from Australia.
I began to realise the peace, healing and love that spirit can provide, is the most rewarding job you can ever have. Fast forward (too many years) and I am now SNU-trained, and going to begin my “Platform Accreditation Qualification” shortly. I hold my own development class to help other mediums and healers to flourish, and I provide private face-to-face readings. I am excited to be taking the next step and launching my very own website to provide readings to those further afield. I work with your loved ones in spirit with love, light, laughter and joy. xx
